Willow-An Artisan Market
Well that holiday weekend was sure a whirlwind blur wasn’t it?
Barbara and I spent Saturday afternoon at Willow – An Artisan’s Market in Littleton, CO doing an artists’ meet and greet event. We loved the artwork and the feel of this shop when we first happened upon it while doing a […]
I’d be lost without my lists. My brain seems to be going in so many directions most of the time. My lists are my anchors in the sea of chaos. Especially this time of year, with the holidays approaching and 3 shows to prepare for in the next 2 months, my lists will keep me […]

So Conflicted
It’s the most ideal time of year for gathering windfall leaves and doing some eco-dyeing, but since my show at Gallery 360 in MN opens in just 2.5 weeks, I’m instead stationed at my sewing machine on nights and weekends, creating a few more small LineScape textile paintings and […]
One of my perks from my teaching gig in Telluride, CO was getting to see and wander through Kathy’s (one of my students) collection of rusty bits that she’s acquired over her many years of collecting rusty stuff.
And Kathy very generously gifted me with rusty bits from her collection, including some rusted pipes, cylinders, […]

I am starting somewhere and just going.
Using the larger eco-dyed cloth as a base, I’ve started some cloth weaving, using some of my hand and eco-dyed fabrics. Then I’ve done some hand-stitching, basting the woven fabrics with the goal of removing all the pins:
Cotton cloth, juniper and iron dyed
After my Artist’s Talk last Monday, I was in a meditative mood this past week. I spent many hours taking apart all these silk ties – prepping them to be usable for my textile work.

Doing things like this is a […]
One thing we have in abundance here in the mountain west: Rusty old horseshoes
silk, horseshoe-wrapped, vinegar, juniper dye bath
Top piece: cotton, bundled with plant material, steamed. Bottom 2 pieces: silk, bundled with horseshoes, dyed in juniper dye bath.

For those that haven’t been to visit my studio, or that have only been here during planned Studio Tour visits (when my studio is all cleaned up for visitors!), I thought I’d give you a glimpse of what the studio really looks like most of the time, when I’m in the middle of my creative […]
